Frequently asked questions
Does Notion check the prices itself?
No. Notion is where the results live. The agent visits the competitor pages, reads the price and writes it into your Notion database as a row. That's why the setup is a database of URLs: it tells the agent what to check and gives every observation a place to land.
Will it change my own prices when a competitor moves?
No. It records and alerts. When a change passes your threshold it comments on your product's Notion page and mentions the owner, who decides what to do. Changing your store's prices is outside this setup, and keeping a person on that decision is deliberate.
Can it read Amazon and other marketplace listings?
Public product pages usually work. Some marketplaces show different prices by location, hide them behind a login, or block automated visits. When a page can't be read cleanly, the agent holds the check rather than logging a wrong number, and you can decide whether that competitor is worth tracking another way.
How do I see the price history over time?
Every check is its own dated row, so the database is the history. Filter by competitor product and sort by date to see each move, or build a board or chart view in Notion. The agent can also add a weekly summary page listing every change past your threshold.
How many competitor pages can it track?
