Acceptable Use Policy for DeskFerry
Last Updated: July 3, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is a plain-English summary of how DeskFerry, operated by Geistwerk AI Labs Pvt Ltd ("DeskFerry", "we", "us"), may and may not be used. It supplements, and is governed by, our Terms of Service (in particular Section 4, Acceptable Use — clauses 4.1 and 4.2) and our Privacy Policy. Where this AUP and the Terms of Service differ, the Terms of Service control. Capitalized terms have the meaning given in the Terms of Service.
DeskFerry is a platform for building AI agents that connect to the apps and systems you already use. With that power comes responsibility: you are accountable for the agents you build, the messages they send, and the actions they take on your behalf.
1. Messaging and outreach — consent first
- Communicate only with people who expect to hear from you. Use DeskFerry to send follow-ups, replies, notifications, routing, and sequences to contacts who have an existing relationship with you or who have opted in to hear from you.
- No unsolicited bulk messaging (spam). Do not use the Solution to send unsolicited commercial messages, cold blasts, or mass messaging to people who have not consented.
- No purchased, rented, or scraped contact lists. Do not import or message contacts obtained from purchased lists, rented lists, or lists scraped from third-party services or websites.
- Honor opt-outs and applicable law. You must honor unsubscribe and opt-out requests promptly and comply with all applicable anti-spam and communications laws (including CAN-SPAM, GDPR/ePrivacy, TCPA, and local equivalents).
- Channel rules apply. Messaging over third-party channels must follow that channel's rules — for example, WhatsApp messaging must use the official WhatsApp Business API and comply with its template and opt-in requirements; email sending is subject to your email provider's sending limits and consent requirements.
2. Connect through official interfaces only
- Use official, authorized APIs and integrations. Agents may only connect to third-party services through the interfaces those services officially provide, using OAuth authorization or scoped API credentials that you control and can revoke.
- No credential sharing. Never share third-party account passwords. DeskFerry will never ask you for them.
- Respect third-party terms and limits. Do not circumvent rate limits, access controls, paywalls, or the terms of service of any connected platform.
- Web extraction is for public data. Where the Solution extracts content from the web, use it only for publicly available pages and in compliance with the source site's terms. Do not use it to harvest personal contact details for unsolicited outreach.
3. No deception, impersonation, or harmful content
- No impersonation or deepfakes. Do not use the Solution to impersonate any person or organization, or to create synthetic audio, video, or images intended to deceive.
- Disclose automation where required. Where law or platform rules require it, disclose that a person is interacting with an automated agent.
- No illegal, harmful, or abusive use. Do not use the Solution to generate or distribute unlawful, fraudulent, discriminatory, harassing, or harmful content, or to violate the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
- No regulated advice without a professional in the loop. The Solution is a productivity tool, not a substitute for professional judgment. Outputs relating to legal, medical, financial, or other regulated matters require review by a qualified professional before they are relied upon.
4. Keep a human in the loop
- You are the responsible operator. You are responsible for configuring, supervising, and reviewing your agents and their autonomous actions, as described in clause 4.2 of the Terms of Service.
- Review high-impact actions. Use human review and approval for actions that send external communications, move money, change records in systems of record, or otherwise carry material consequences.
- Test before you automate. Validate agent behavior on a limited scope before granting broad, unattended autonomy.
5. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access, disable agents, or remove content that violates this AUP or the Terms of Service, with or without notice, as described in Section 8 (Term and Termination) of the Terms of Service.
6. Reporting abuse
If you believe an agent, account, or message on DeskFerry violates this Policy, please report it:
- Abuse: [email protected]
- Legal / IP: [email protected]
