Social Media Automation on Basecamp, Powered by AI
Keep approving posts in Basecamp. When a card reaches Approved, the agent queues it in Buffer for the right channels and comments the scheduled time back on the card.
4 cards approved since Friday. First one, queued for LinkedIn:

Our Rwanda Huye Mountain lot lands in the shop on Thursday.
It's a washed coffee from a single cooperative, and we roasted it a shade lighter than last year so the black tea note comes through.

Can I schedule social media posts from Basecamp automatically?
Basecamp doesn't publish to social networks, but an agent can connect it to a scheduler such as Buffer.
- 01
Trigger fires
Teams that already draft and approve posts on a Basecamp card table or to-do list keep doing that.
- 02
Read the approved card, its copy and attached image
When a card moves to the approved column, the agent reads the copy, the attached image, the channels and the date, checks each version against that network's length and image requirements, and queues it in Buffer.
- 03
Check the copy against each channel's limits
It then comments on the Basecamp card with the scheduled time.
- 04
Queue the post in Buffer at the requested time
Cards with an unanswered question in the comments, a missing image or copy too long for X wait for a person.
- 05
You approve
Anything under your confidence bar waits for a human.
How you tell it what to do
Built in plain English.
You write the rule the way you'd describe it to a teammate. The agent reads the rule, breaks it into the actions it'll take, and confirms the apps it'll touch — before it does anything.
- 1Read the approved card, its copy and attached image
- 2Check the copy against each channel's limits
- 3Queue the post in Buffer at the requested time
- 4Comment on the card with the scheduled slot
How it connects
Connect Basecamp. The agent does the rest.
Claude and ChatGPT are already running on our side. You connect Basecamp with one click, and social media management runs inside it.

Card is in Approved but Nadia's last comment asks "is the new price live on the site yet?" Not queued.
Copy is 412 characters and the card lists X. Needs a shorter X version or X taken off the card.
Instagram is listed on the card but nothing is attached, so there is nothing to post there.
Human in the loop
Approve before it sends.
Every draft lands in a review queue. You approve, edit, or reject — the agent never acts on its own unless you explicitly turn that on for a workflow you trust.
Governance
Every action, with the reasoning attached.
Each step the agent takes is logged with what it did, why it did it, and which app it touched. Audit-ready, so security and compliance can sign off without backfilling.

How it works
Get started in three steps
Step 01
Connect Basecamp and your scheduler
Authorize the Basecamp project that holds the social card table, and the Buffer account with your LinkedIn, Instagram and X channels.
Step 02
Explain your approval convention
Name the column that means approved, where the channels and date go on a card, and what should stop a post, like an open question in the comments.
Step 03
Answer what it holds back
Overlong copy, missing images and cards with unresolved comments stay in your queue. Clean cards go to Buffer and get a comment back.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does Basecamp publish to social networks by itself?
No. Basecamp has no publishing to LinkedIn, Instagram or X, and the agent doesn't pretend otherwise. Basecamp stays where posts are written, discussed and approved; the agent carries approved posts into a scheduler like Buffer and reports back on the card, so nobody copies text between tabs.
We track posts as to-dos, not on a card table. Does that work?
Yes, as long as approval is visible somewhere the agent can read. Common setups are a to-do list called Ready to post where checking the item off means approved, or a message board thread where the client replies with an approval. Describe your convention in the rule and it follows that.
What stops it scheduling a post the client hasn't signed off?
It only reads cards in the column you name, and it reads their comments too. If the latest comment asks a question, or the copy was edited after the client's last reply, the card waits in the review queue with the comment quoted instead of going to the scheduler.
Can it tell the team how each post did?
If your scheduler's connection exposes post stats, the agent can leave a weekly comment on each card with clicks and reactions. Full analytics stay in the social tools. The point is a short record next to the Basecamp discussion that produced the post, so the next brief starts from what landed.
Can it draft posts as well as schedule them?
It can write a first draft from a brief, a blog link or a product note and leave it in a Drafts column for someone to edit. Drafts never skip the approval column: the same rule that governs posts written by people governs the ones the agent wrote.
